myron watkins - music director
Myron Watkins is an upcoming music producer and artist. Originally from New Orleans, he has made Nashville his permanent resident city since 2001. With a humble spirit, Myron hopes his music blesses everyone who listens. His musical influences are Michael Jackson, Michael Bereal, Prince, Chick Corea, Timbaland, Thomas Whitfield, Kevin Bond, and Michael J. Powell.
Since August 2001, Myron was a dedicated volunteer in the Music Worship & Arts (MWA) Ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Nashville, TN) under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Walker, III until June 2002 where he officially served as Keyboardist. From June 2002 - January 2009, he occasionally directed the mass choir and provided vocal instruction for the College Choir & Praise Team. In addition Mr. Watkins filled in as interim music director for the Antioch location, served as a College Ministry Leader and swing musician for the College Ministry, Youth Ministry and for the smooth transition of Sunday services for the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Nashville, TN) Antioch & Old Hickory locations.
Since May 2003, Myron served as Minister of Music at the Historic Capers Memorial C.M.E. Church (Nashville, TN) under the leadership of Pastor Patricia Buckner. In March 2009, he accepted the Music Director position at Friendship Baptist Church, Inc. (Nashville, TN) under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy D. Greer.
With a spirit of serving Gods people, Myron juggles the music ministry of two churches with great effectiveness, assists other churches upon request throughout the Middle Tennessee region and frequently assists Will & The Fanatix. Currently, he is co-producing a new project with Kenyan Flowers & NUCHRG and worked with entertainer Tahj Mowry.
Myrons plan includes becoming a music super producer, and a restaurateur. In between playing for the two churches, playing for local groups, producing/co-producing music projects for artists, he is currently working on his own music and hopes to produce for artists spanning several genres and hopes each song touches the world!
